Have you ever noticed how it's the tiniest things that take the most time? I made some polymer clay tiles and then handpainted them. I loved it and had so much fun that I didn't know how much time had gone by and frankly, I'm afraid to figure it out! :) They are about a 1/2 inch by 1/4 and as you can see, I had to stick them on a strip of tape just to hold them still for the painting. They also still need a little shiny glaze of some kind (more time!). Someone in the family (who shall remain nameless! :) ) didn't quite think the time was worth the itty-bitty results. I respectfully disagree. So, have you ever had a project that was so tiny in the final product that you wondered if it was worth the time and energy?

I think mini-kniting comes into that category. Anyway your little tiles are just wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these! They are wonderful and soooo worth the time. Gives me an idea for my kitchen in my log cabin (which DH did not work on at all this weekend!). Did you use a stamp to make the impression?!

Jody,
ReplyDeleteStamps are the answer to so many things! These were stamped into the clay then cut out. Fun, fun!

Norma,
ReplyDeleteI love mini-knitted or crocheted items but I just don't have the skill or patience for all the counting. I would love to see some of your mini-knitting work... have you posted about any of it?
Daisy
I haven't done much cos it does my head in! - I seem to be always dropping stitches which are so hard to pick up cos they are so tiny, in fact usually easier to pull it down and redo once that happens. I hadn't thought of posting it, but will do :)
ReplyDeletethose are so worth it. They are beutiful!! Teresa
ReplyDeleteYour tiles are beautiful! I've passed the Sunshine Award to you. Please come on over to pick it up!
